You're a glass half empty kinda person. Like I said it's for my own personal satisfaction. If it doesn't work or is a right pain I'll slap some paint on it.
Shocks I think were about £130 including tax and postage, but then we did a group order, helped out by our friends in Asia. Hydraulic switches replace the standard brake switch with the springs, and as the name implies, work off an increase in hydraulic pressure. Click the link and see the switch.
I will get some photos when time allows. |

Good man TekroG....keep on with the project.....the updates are good....and I'm sure will be of interest to other peeps! Certainly it's interesting for me. I've got a similar attitude I think......'try something' and if it doesn't work then 'pick a different route' or 'return to original' - it's all about 'tinkering' about and getting satisfaction out of achieving something - right?
BTW....I take it that you were refering to (a morti) about the glass being 'half empty?' .....although....I can often be like that myself....so the WIFE says anyway!
Keep up the good work and we'll look forward to the pics when time permits!
Cheers,
Graeme |

Been away but just got back in time to purchase Hydraulic brake switches and stainless bleed nipples from the BMF.
NB Bleed nipples for Nissins are M8 x 1.25 pitch, not 7mm as the BSR Aerotech bloke thought |

Ha been a while cos I've had loads going on in my life. Had a few probs with sizing for replacement stainless bleed nipples (8mm 1.25mm pitch for Nissins if you need em) but got the right ones finally, now just need seals and a new caliper for the brakes overhaul. |

Hey TektroG - looking at your pic has just reminded me that I have a rear hugger and bellypan to fit to my SF, from the first order. My bike passed the MOT this morning after a long lie-up in the garage and I'm determined to make more use of it this year. Knee down and rolling stoppy are my talent goals...again... |

Seat recovered gel pad inserted for less numb bum on longer trips, all by local upholstery firm. Photos to follow.

Seat resculpted and raised. Basketweave slightly less water resistant than original, but hey I'll stick a placcy bag over it at a rally if its raining that much.

Finally got off my arse and did summit. Went over my mates who taught me all I need to know about carbs, then we used my carbtune gauges to balance his Divvy 600. Had a wee prob on one carb so we also did compression tests. Now we compared it to the other cylinders to see if it was right cos the manual just gave a ratio. Anyone know how to convert the ratio (i.e. it was 10:1 in this case) to a lbft pressure reading? I ask cos I borrowed the compression tester to test mine. Whilst I was over there I sorted my Nissin brakes with the sticking pistons, cos he had a compressor. However the stainless replacement ones from wemoto were very slightly taller for some reason than the originals, shouldn't cause any problems though. I ended up replacing 3 incl. the rear and obviously changed all seals. If you get a stuck piston don't do what I did which was wrap a cloth round some pliers and try yanking it out, you'll only end up scoring it, find someone with a compressor. Now I need replacement dust covers for the new stainless bleed nipples - any ideas? |

I had a stainless piston for my rear CB1 brake from WEMoto, turned out the dust seal was fine, but the oil seal was too big. Good thing the old one was okay as I had to re-use it. My dad got a set of pattern seals for his front CB1 brake, and they weren't quite right either.
I think that brake parts like that just joined the list of "stuff where you just don't bother with pattern parts"
Be sure you can get brand new pads in there with a brand new disc and still open the aliper up enough, or you may get trouble in the future.

Cheers for the link.
Not fitting a new disk but new pads going in, but you are right, I hadn't thought of that. I'm guessing you mean brake fluid seal, as I'm concerned if you've used oil in the brakes!! |

Fork oil replaced with heavier (20 weight) stuff. Seriously horrible old oil came out. Flushed with some warm medium weight oil, before adding 500ml of new heavy weight. Measured 150mm from fork tops to oil level. Believe this to be correct? |

Today I was oiling all the cables using a hydraulic cable oiler. Was a right pain as out of 4 I did, 3 had metal fittings on the end which meant getting a seal to force oil down hydraulically was a challenge. Maybe I should have warmed the oil first as well but hey ho. |

Busy ordering a new bty. Gonna go for a high spec Odyssey PC310, seeing as genuine Yuasa's are so expensive. Should last longer and withstand better periods when the bike is stood. |
