I need to remove the flywheel from my L model, anyone know the size and type of the thread required on a flywheel puller? I can't seem to find this info in the workshop manual I've got. I've measured the thread and it seems to be somewhere between 28 and 30mm.

Cheers - Dan

Not sure what you measured it with, i think its an odd size, like 33 or something, from memory it is the same flywheel puller as a GSXR 750T.
Just found it, in workshop manual, electrical section, tools required.
M33 x 1.5

Cheers

Cheers Duane, I measured it again and yup 33mm would be right.

Make one with a 33mm nut from industrial supplies, weld a 12 mm nut to one side. wind the 33mm nut to flywheel by hand then hold it with a spanner, then use a 12mm bolt & rattle gun drive the flywheel off the crank.

I was already thinking along the line of buying a 33mm nut and trying to fashion something - but I don't have access to welding gear.

I do have a claw type puller, so I'm gonna wind on the nut (once obtained) and put the claw puller on the edge of the nut and wind it in onto the end of the crank - ideally done with a nut with a big flange (always like to drop the word flange into conversation). Not sure if that's gonna work... but it's all I have to go on at the moment.
