hi anyone know if its a straight forward job to swap the gearboxes over as mine is shagged well first gear is any way , is it an engine out job! thanks

You will need to split the cases to change the gearbox. So it's an engine out job, Not sure if they will straight swap though.

Lose weight and go faster.

H, L and SP all interchange complete gearboxes, ratios are all different.

The older I get the Faster I was!

ok mines an L model, what do u mean when you say split the cases? would you say its a fairly easy job to do or a bit involved? roughly how long do you think it would take to do!

remove bodywork
drain oil/coolant
remove exhaust
remove tank/carbs
remove radiator
remove engine

remove clutch cover/genny cover/stator cover
remove lower crankcase
delve into and fiddle with gearbox components

re-assemble

:)

see its easy :)

2 days labour ? ish ? based on the fact that it takes me about 6 hours to strip engine out, do head-gasket/valves and get it back together.. depends how much ive drunk/smoked though

so yeh, its "quite involved"

whats actually wrong with yours ?

sooo.. who wants to lend me 6k then ?

crunching at high revs in first gear just thought it would be the gear box as im always popping wheelies in first on it. i can do the work no probs easy changed engines before on zxrs jus not had to fiddle with the gears before!

u can make gasgets out of some corn flake boxs mine is using them and it never leak when we running it at elbsfleet?

not yet just got to be bothered to drop the engine an suss how to do it not got alot of space really an movin in to new house next week so mite have to wait a bit its not urgent really still rides, to make things worse i bloody dropped it getting it out of the garage the other day and cracked the seat plastics!
