Bemsee F400 variant - I know the KR is safe on HP only makes 62hp on that type Dyno. Its advantage of light weight about 110kg is negated by the rules as they stand - though I doubt anybody would complain to much if I entered as wouldn't be near the front :)
BMCRC 2008 FORMULA 400 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Machines must be production based models which would have been eligible for registration for road use at the time of manufacture. Maximum Engine capacity 415cc allowing for overbores and engine wear. Both 4-stroke and 2-stroke machines are permissible. A 78 bhp limit is set for 2-stroke machines. There is no bhp limit for 4-stroke machines. Fuel injection systems are not permitted. The frame from headstock to swing-arm pivot, the rear swing arm and the engine cases must all be sourced from the same model. These parts may be strengthened or tuned and excess lugs may be removed. Cylinders and cylinder heads may be changed. The maximum power (measured after racing on a “Dyna-Pro” dynamometer) shall be 78bhp measured at the rear wheel. A 2% tolerance may be permitted in unusual climatic conditions at the entire discretion of the Senior Technical Officer. The minimum weight shall be: 145kg for 4-stroke machines 132kg for 2-stroke machines This is the weight with oil and water but no fuel. Any treaded tyre is permitted. No slik tyres. Only fuel freely available from roadside outlets is permitted. Bodywork profile may be altered from the standard production model. All other specifications must conform to the ACU Standing Regulations for Solo machines. (Published January 2008)
Well, I've been there, done that, and still got the Aprilia RS250 Great bike, but I got fed up with all the maintenance that a tuned 2 stroke requires I'll probably be putting it up for sale as I can't really see myself going to all the trouble again, sadly as I loved riding it . I think I would get a GP bike if I was to go 2 stroke again
