Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, and wanted to share with you my new bike. I'm doing my DAS this week, test is on Friday so fingers crossed!

Dunno, it was like that when I bought it. I'll have a proper look tomorrow if I remember and let you know.
I failed my test BTW :(((
It was looking good until I made a complete hash of the u-turn. Apart from that, just 3 minors. Grrrr. |

You guys in the uk seem to have pretty hard riding tests, it's probably better for yourself in the long run. They make it hard for a good reason.
The best thing you could probably do is get some advice/tips/training off a seasoned rider. Like any new thing, a new view can dramatically alter your perspective. Talk to all the riders about u-turns that you can.

My bike is a version R and it too has the same set up. The rear end is the same as a CBR400 (3 bolt flange). Quite handy because any cbr400 can will bolt on. You do have to make a link piece for the bracket though. Unless it has a movable strap. |

Took the bike in for MOT yesterday; well, a mate rode it actually :( Had a look at the exhaust, and as hondaneil says, the can simply bolts on to a 3-bolt flange. Don't understand what is meant by the link piece and moveable strap though, unless you're referring to an exhaust mount Hondaneil?
It just needs a rear wheel bearing for MOT, not bad for a £750 bike I reckon!

Passed the test second time! I've been out on the bike a few times now, it's like riding a jet turbine innit! (Not that I've ever ridden an actual jet turbine!) Really enjoying it, but there's a slight wobble from the front when cornering at speeds above 60mph, could this be the front tyre perhaps? I need to check the tyre pressures, but everything else seems OK (had it checked over for the MOT).
Any ideas? Or should I post this in the workshop bit? |

| tyre pressures are deffo worth going over. i had a gpx250 for a while that had a slow puncture in the front. i only worked that out after a few precarious rides! |

They seem quite stiff as it goes. I've managed to get hold of a pair of second-hand Showa units from the Phillipines, but haven't had time to fit them yet. I've no idea what kind of nick they're in though, so I'm happt to stick with the Hagons for now as they seem to work. |

| Shimmer45 - dead right! I've been out in the really strong winds we've had recently, found that holding onto the tank with my knees and relaxing my arms really helped. Oh, and remembering to look ahead and not at the car in front! ;) |

u will find that if you look farther ahead you can plan things better thus helping to smooth out your riding and you wont be taken by suprise as easily.
didu get that Version R off ebay as there was one on there earlier this week |

I did get it off fleabay, but back in September.
I think it might be dead now though; some pillock drve over the front wheel when it was parked. Dunno what's bent yet but I'm guessing it won't be a cheap repair.

hey awesome bike.
Its the same colour as mine. except mine has no fairing.
I've got a full WRS system on mine, then when the end can went gaga, I wealded a scorpion one on their. But to save long stories I call it a full scorpion exhaust system. |
