I think I have already answered my own questions by a series of trials, however, I will ask as a second opinion is allways useful.
Recently done quite a lot of work to my partners VFR so she can ride it, basically I have cut and rewelded the bike making it aproximatly 6 inches lower. I was making the most final of final adjustments today to a glass fibre under tray on return from holiday. Bike was running fine before hols and was running great, nipped round the block only to discover rubbing, so I thougth I woudl leave it until I come back from hols. On return from hols the bike will not start, it turns over but will not run, to cut a long story short, the plugs are not firing, they are wet from fuel but will not fire. Occasionally it will pick up as though it was going to start but then continue to turn over on the button.
Seeign as I have seriously butchered the loom i thought perhaps one of my solder joints had failed (never happened before) and so I have strated to check them, but still have a few more to go. It seems increadibly unlickly that both the coil packs have failed simultaniously so at the moment me thinks that the CDI has failed... unless any one else has a better idea? Other thoughts is obviously the pick up units, but I havnt touched them, so again seems unlickely.
It was left standing in a dry garage next to my ZX12 which started perfectly.... Silly hey?

Hi Sounds like the bike is flooded, they don't like any throttle on start up from cold. Full choke only. Dry the plugs out in an oven for a while and see if they will jump a spark when winding it over with plugs out.
Seems unlikely that you rode it and put it away running ok then the wiring is faulty next time you try and start is.
6 inches is a big drop, did you cut out the subframe and lower the seat? Got any pics?

Yes, she is, she is 4ft 10, and needless to say was unable to get her feet on the ground... until now. I think the original seat hight on the VFR was 31 inches? and i have dropped it to 25. I will post a couple of pics when I can as I found a crafty was of gaining 1-2 inches of ride hight, without altering ANY of the suspension.
Anyway, as for being flooded... I supose it could be. I shall go check, shortly and see.
