depends on how you ride it

i put a 1/2 system on my bike with short gearing and used to ride it 9K+ RPM all the time and 150 to reserve was pretty normal

just found out that the pipe comming from the tap to there where it splits in 2 for the carbs was leaking a bit, maybe thats why, ill see what it does now, thanx guys, but does the jets that i put in make a big difference? 117.5 front and 120 rear?

The jets will make bugger all difference.

Do you tilt the bike vertical when filling with fuel? You can easily squeeze an extra litre or more in when doing that. It mostly comes down to how you ride it.

I can do a tank and a bit on a track day and thats about 8/9 laps, 1.5miles per lap and do about 5 sessions, you do the math.

Hennie I rode to Suldana last satudey with a buddy. He has a ZX9RR and we were going between 160 to 200 km/h all the way. And at 130km I had to switch over to reserve. Ended up with 150km at garage on the way back and had to fill up with 12.5 liters.

Last week-end I had a major service done. Carbs are ballanced valve clearance done, new tyres, etc. I also noticed that since removing my speed limiter I use much more fuel than previously. So if you are heavy on the throttle you will chow fuel. I must still learn how to take it easy on the long rode!

Just a couple of weeks before that I had a much slower run with another friend who has a NC30 as well. And then the consumption was much less (200km on tank).

At the sounds of it your bike is going well now?

I live one quatermile at a time!

Yes i do tilt it vertically, but i think its the leak that made it look so heavy, we'll just see nou, i fixed the leak....... i hope

but Cammo, what do u think about the jets that ive got in now, do u think its gonna make more of a difference if i try even bigger ones? and what size?

well i dont think its going like its supposed to, because, when i push it hard on the open road, it seems like it just reaches 190km/h so even with the speed limiter removed i dont think its going to go much past that, and it doesnt pull as good as my old NC30 did, with pull away at about 9000rpm it jurks a bit up to about 12 13 then pulls through but im sure not as it should, what does this foam filter do?? too much air or what? and i dont even have an old airfilter to test the difference!!! this sucks! someone please give me miracle advice

Original only hennie, if I had a spare it would be sent to you already!

(actually might have a good used one you can have for postage only, I'll let you know).

There seems to be enough nc30's in SA that someone will be supplying genuine air filters. I don't know if there are any generic ones for the '30.

Hennie you will find an original here in SA... I bought an original Honda filter for my RVF at Suzuki South here in Cape Town. I'm sure you'll find one in your part of SA... try Mitaka or Racebox. I'm pretty sure Gerhard at Racebox can supply it.

In fact Suzuki South are pretty good with supplying parts for grey bikes but not sure they'll post it to you...
