Hi, guys :)
How do you measure the oil level of your bikes?
Do you screw the prepared clean dipstick into its hole or just put it in?
Thanks in advance for the answers.

Thanks, eddie:)

In what bike condition do you measure the oil - warm or cold bike?
I guess the oil volume will be increased if the bike is hot...

Cold...

Also make sure in addition to being on flat ground the bike has to be straight and not on it's side stand.

Hi all,
What line do you measure the oil to?
I've got two flat bits on the dipstick with a raised line in the middle?
Thanks,
Ian.

it has to be on the flat bit (between the 2 places where the dipstick gets thinner

Thanks Bugie.
My dipstick is the same thickness either side of the line, I'm presuming that you mean the flat bit at the end of the stick after the raised line?
Ian.

warm the bike and let it cool for ten minutes, this thins the oils so that it all drops into the sump. then whilst on level ground unscrew the dipstick wipe it and put it back without screwing it in then hold the bike upright and take another reading from it. job done

Keep it gutter....keep it grimey................one
