Fitting braided hoses recently i had to remove the tail unit to get at the reservoir for the rear master cylinder, it was the first time i had it off this bike. I noticed the overflow bottle was empty, is this normal or should there be a bit in it, i cant see any markings on the side of it! the temperature has always been normal. |

Yer m8 that bottle allways needs a bit of juice in it (max 50% anti freeze, 50% water)!!! it feeds the main cycle of the cooling system.
Don't worry about markings, if you put too much in it will p iss the excess out of an overflow pipe :) |

There is a set of markings on the bottle, for hi and low coolant level.
To see it, you gotta peek from underneath the tail end. The markings are on the side of the bottle facing the inside. |

It should have coolant in it, as it feeds back into the system if the rad' cap "blows-off". There will be "upper" and "lower" levels marked on it. |
Cheers, Doc.
