Foxy, the flat piece was welded from the outside but I filed and then polished to produce the chamfered edge, the material used is 316 s/s (a higher grade then 304 which does corrode) the end piece is some 50mm tube I had lying around about 50mm length, the flat piece was cut from some 3mm plate and then cleaned up on the lathe O/D is about 6mm less than the O/D of the exhaust, hole in the middle is slightly bigger than 50mm so I could angle the tube, which is why it was welded from the outside, this will be cleaned up to form a radius, then it was polished to remove discoluration from the welds. I'll check thoses dimensions when i visit the shed later and confirm.

Nice job Superfour, tidy bit of welding and an ingenious solution!

Remember everyone, if your original exhaust is scratched on the end (perhaps the bike fell over on the right hand side) you can fill any deep gouges with weld and grind and polish them out (that's what I did) any place that does stainless welding should be able to do it for not much money.

Checked the dimensions and they are correct, however the material used is just what I 'aquired' from work. You can use any size tube for the pipe bit, but don't use anything thinner than 3mm for the plate, it'll distort when welding.

Hmmm, very quiet on the SF forum at the minute.

You get time off, alright for some, still it's handy having an empty factory to play with after hours

93 CBR900RR. What do you think is a good color to paint it? My initial choice is a Copper color then have the lips polished. Inputs. Now im selling my front & rear 5 inch rear rim to recover my cost. Will fit ALL Super 4s including PB1s, Version S/R with minimal adjustments. Those who want to give their bike a PHAT ASS, heres the upgrade you need...YUMMY!!!!
