Hi all, been lurking on here as a vfr fan and also checking out the scene before purchasing but now ive finally got my act together and am back into the world of biking! got my nc30 5 weeks ago and i love it! (would post pis but dunno how!) well happy with it, the previous owner spent loads on it havin new fairing + spray job and had wheels and loads of other bits powder coated so it looks like new! unfortunately i have had to leave it back at my parents house 150 miles away from where i live now without even riding it yet! harsh....
hasnt stopped me buying loads of stuff for it though!
anyway back to the reason for my post....I want to get it insured asap so it is ready and legal for me to ride when i pop back at weekends for some fun!, how much am i lookin at to insure it? last time i had a bike on the road was when i was 18 on an rs 125 so i hope the price will have gone down a bit since then! even though i have no no-claims for my bike now, also is there any companies you would recommend/avoid?
thanks |

Have a look at online insurers. This year I paid £210 for my NC and TDM together, insuring a K4/5 GSX-R 750 plus the NC will be £460, but the area you live in, age, expeience etc all counts here. |

29yrs old, no NCB, clean licence. TPFT £86 with bennetts. its worth going on a site like bennetts where you can play about with your details and see how much the price changes. i couldn`t believe it when it worked out cheaper for me to park it on the road rather than say i keep it in the garage! |

Bike Team and Express Insurance gave me the best quotes. Bennetts were by far the worst that I looked at, quoting me almost double (an extra 400 quid) other companies. |

Mine this year was £790 for the Triumph Daytona 675 & the VFR 400 NC30 on a multibike policy fully comprehensive through A-Quote, best price I could find. I have 4 years no claims, I've just turned 22, I have no points/convictions and the bikes are garaged overnight. And to take the NC30 off the policy (as it's now just a track bike) would have only reduced it by £10 , so I kept it on.

Just spoke to a mate who is 21, 5 years NCB and just insured a Hayabusa 1300 for £300 TPFT! Thought that was pretty damned good... |
