Hello,

Was wondering if any of you folk have slip on exhausts? If so what makes/what is involved in fitting them/what linkpipe/diameter etc etc.

Also whilst i'm asking questions.. the tyres on my CB1 are up for a change soon, and advice on the best make /proflies again would be handy...

And another thing.... When I start the bike in the morning it'll idle fine with the choke on - untill - i sit on the bike at twhich the revs drop considerably. Any bouncing on the seat seems to affect things? Has anyone experienced this? Electrical Gremlins?

Not really noticed anything with mine just sitting on it with the choke on, but I have noticed if it is on the center stand and I push it forward and the choke is on, it will drop about 500/1000rpm. Tis rather odd but it doesn't seem to cut out or do anything untoward.

My bike is currently arfed at the moment anyway, something is wrong with it and even the mechanic doesn't know what so I have no idea really.

I believe a few people have BT090s and are very happy with them. I personally have the stock BT45s and frankly they are fine, the suspension on my CB-1 is so cack my guts give out before the tyres do anyway. :p

well my superfour has an aftermarket exhaust of sorts, its a CBR 600 Motad Nexxus exhaust welded onto a set of superfour downpipes, not the best looking pipe in the world but it sounds nice, and it will be getting changed for a custom one when i get the money.

I dont think there are many aftermarket ones that are perfect fits, in the UK anyway but you could get a custom one or just do what the guy who did this to the one i have now and just weld it on :P

I got a Sudco full system (used and cost £115 delivered) that I fitted to my CB-1 when my original US model steel one rotted away. It's nice and loud and makes the motor breathe much better at high rpm. I've got a good standard system fitted now so the Sudco is sitting in my garage waiting for me to put it on eBay.

The pipes are solid and black. The alloy silencer needs some tlc but it's not got any road rash on it. These systems are as rare as rocking horse poo. The only photo I can find is here: http://people.tribe.net/rubysparks/blog/0e3fccaa-1122-403a-9669-9eed00cd1936

My bike:

I personally reckon it's the best CB-1 in the land

+ NC29 swingarm ('29 wheels soon), Quill T3 Ti, lots of black, blade rear hangers, beet rearsets, brembo brake. Top mods: BT45's, touring screen & rack with 50L box! Stolen recovered, scumbags best not try again.

Are you sure it's black enough? I can still see some shiny bits on it

The swingarm conversion is neat.

link pipe is custom fabbed, and it's a universal 52mm slip-on, shortened from 18" to 13" after I crashed and landed on it (boo) and with a dB killer, since it was silly loud once shortened. I fit 98 Blade rear pegs to allow the exhaust up higher, CB-1s otherwise often have ground clearance issues with aftermarket cans if you don't. Squashes the passenger up a bit though. Also I'm not 100% that you could use my link pipe with the original swingarm.

I'm not sure it's black enough either, but then all black might be a bit extreme? I must remove the silver off the radiator pods though

Right, well make sure you check the fuel hose coming from between the tap and the pump because that was the source of all my problems, including random power-losses until stalling and whatnot. Sometimes nothing occured for week. Turns out this hose was basically being crushed by everything and caused it to sporadically stop flowing.

Since my bike no longer has an erratic idle. Give it a look at least :)
