Got several good offers on my SF last year always the way!
Now when i need the cash it reached £641 on ebay! stingey gets
Im being told that its not worth more than that yet i paid £1150 for it last august and quite honestly think i wouldnt even loose that on a car in that amount of time, but again being told Im asking far to much and expecting too much from i quote 'an 11 yr old learner bike'
so what are they worth now!?
its a 1996 N reg with receipts since import and 21,000miles |

It's worth only what someone will give you for it I'm afraid. That's the thing about ebay - it advertises to the widest possible audience, and so is a *perfect* reflection of any item's market value.
At this moment, it appears your bike is worth exactly 641 sovs. Sorry - I know it's frustrating. I bought my CB-1 for 1500 (or 16? I forget) 5 years ago, which apparently was a boom time for 400 prices. now even in good condition - in fact better than when I got it - it's worth a very best of 800, even - or maybe due to - the performance and cosmetic upgrades I've made.
That said, auctions aren't the best way to get the top book price, they are only a good way to get an immediate sale. You wouldn't go to a car auction and pay dealer, or even private sale, prices for a car, now would you?? Ebay is also sight-unseen, so I would only pay a price less than I would for a bike I had seen in the paper, if you follow.
Put it in the loot at the money you want to see, and see how long it takes to sell, if at all. |

Or try going back to your training school if you are or were friendly with them, and see if they will try to sell it to a trainee. It is a good learner bike after all! |

Hmm, if i didnt need the cash id keep it , its one of those things thats worth far more than the price you get at the moment, I might wait and see what happens in a couple of months - but the school idea is good, although Im moving so would have to try one nearer to where i live
I dont however beleive that ebay is the common consensus on price
I tried selling my celica on there and if it were up to ebay it would have sold for £500 however After it didnt reach its reserve i got £1100 and lots of interest I think ebay is just the internet users car boot |

to be honest i think the superfours are very under-rated and are over shaddowed by the other v4 400's. i never went out looking for a superfour when i got mine, it just caught my eye in the showroom and thought i must have it! never took the smile off my face all the time i had it |

How about advertising in BikeTrader or MCN? I would personally rather buy from someone advertising in a reputable magazine than from eBay. The price level is higher, also for Superfours but people will always try to haggle the price down. Cheers, Mansie |

Hiya heppie,
I don't know if you are still looking for a SF, mate? but your more than welcome to have a look at mine? It's not in the best of shapes, and if the red one on Ebay that you saw is the same one as I saw, then it's probably not even as good as that? so doubt you'll be interested?
But hey - have a look and if you want to speak to me to discuss an offer, I'd be more than willing to talk to you?
Go to the Workshop forum and have a look at the 'Throttle cable help?' disscussion.
Cheers,
Graeme |
