hey guys

im looking at painting my cbr 400 nc23 and i have been looking for ages for difrent paint job styles etc.

now i think i have come up with one ( i think , more the girlfriend has)

All the bike in a high gloss Black with silver flecks in ( like glitter)

Then a chinese letter on the front fairing and a dragon going up the rear fairing, both in silver

then the screen will be silver with two dragons in black on it.

what do you guys think and is it a good or bad idea.

thanks michael

Cbr 400, gone to a good home, Track VFR gone, Just left with my Yamaha Thundercat. Im still going to hang around.

honestly....NO

race rep or nothing IMO.

Ha ha ha, oh my God! I almost didn't do it, I almost didn't do it! I thought, is this in bad taste? But you know what, I went for it. I went for it and I'm so glad I did! Ooooh, worth it, totally worth it.

Do whatever you like CBR400_MAD, you go for what YOU want, its your bike, you bought it, your designing it so why please other people.

I am only saying this because here is my current baby:

I get so much stick, some really nasty comments as well but I really dont care, I'm a burd, my bike is pink, with a pink fluffy seat cover and soon pink wheels, I love it to bits like this and it makes me smile everyday I ride it.

I personally love the chinese decals and the dragon but I do like my bikes to look VERY different

Your other idea is the way foreward
Are you going to get the paint job then the decals as well, if so lacquer over the lot after to get a really tasty finish!

Yeah i done it myself, with spraycans. Originally i planned on using 2-pack in the compressor and spraygun i have, but found out about all the health risks involved and all the proper extraction etc you need. Basically ive been buying the carmatch spraycans from Halfords so far, a Peugot gold for the subframe and BMW Cosmos Black for the panels. You can get just the same high finish on it with spraycans as you can a spraygun IMO, its just alot of patience and preperation! And to top it all off ive done all of this and im still 16...well for another 21 days anyways :)

awww thanks so much Monkey thats really nice of you

You are right, life is too short.

I was a member of a forum (remained nameless) when I lived in Brighton. I had my lil CBR400 and a TL1000S, I didnt "fit in", I didnt have an R1, I didnt have billions of pounds to bling my bikes therefore I didnt fit into the "in crowd". I sold both of them and bought a brand new Kawasaki Z1000. Funny how peer pressure can still affect you even if you're 24 years old Well I liked the Zed but surprise surprise I had a naked muscle bike.... didnt fit in.... wasnt an R1, R6 or GSXR was it!

Everyone told me to get 4-2-1 Akropovic on the Zed as its best for performance and the quad pipes look cack. Well.... I like the quad pipes so I sacrificed 4bhp and got race quad pipes instead.... I dont particularly want to open the garage and look at my Zed with a £900 race system on it that I bought and don't like!

I am waiting for a trackday now on the 400 so people can really dig their heels in over my pink bike and then blush with embarassment when the vision in pink overtakes them

If you want a real surprise then heres my old Yamaha XT660X which had sparkly chameleon flip paint
