Currently got a varadero 125.. but wanting a faster, more city styled bike for london... saw quite a nice 99 reg CB400 with 21,000 miles on the clock, japanese import... they want about 1,800 quid for it.. anyone want to say whether thats a good deal or not? and if they'd recommend the bike for a lot of inner city work? cheers

The 99 should be the VTEC model

That much money get's you a good CBR600. I wouldn't pay it. That's not to say the bike's aren't good, though.

what kind of money do you think its worth then?

its between something like this or a fully faired bike like a transalp or something... but, you seem to get more for your money with naked bikes...

the fun thing about naked bikes is that they're generally very sensible commuters with the ability to turn into born again rebels with the flick of the wrist.

thats prob 21000 kilometres as a pose to miles.........13000miles, 99 vtech engine.....its prob worth that money if u ask me. personally tho i would steer clear of the v-tech model and go for a nice PB-1 and pick it up for about £900-£1200 max. Seeby

nah, it was 36,000 km :) or something like that, it worked out to 21,000 miles... didn't go for it in the end as they wouldn't take mine as part exchange and i don't have any money till i sell it, who knows might still be for sale when i get some cash together... cheers for all the advice though..
