Im having real trouble getting tyres for my superfour. I really like the bt92's that are on there but have been told you cannot get them anymore. The only options i have been given are bt090's or gpr70's both being too soft for what i need. My honda dealership said i could have bt45's but when i was shopping around a specialist tyre shop said i could not use bt-45's as they are crossply not radials. Im really stuck for what to do now and i dont have much time left as they need to be changed asap. Someone please help. |

you can use bt45's aslong as both tyres are crossply tyres so both will have to be bt45's
i reckon you will be able to find somewhere selling bt92's online, why not just buy em online and get em fitted |

looks like i may have to end up selling my superfour currently im doing 1k miles a month and if the 090s or gpr70s will only do bout 4k i cant afford to replace £155 worth of tyres every 4 months its just not viable. |

bt45's go on forever, i had them on my superfour, dont offer too much confidence in the bends but providing your not trying to get the pegs down you'll be fine |

see this is the problem im by no means slow and like to have a laugh round corners, but i do alot of mileage. The bt92s where just the right compromise. 090's will be too soft and the 45's wont be sticky enough for my cornering so basically im stuffed unless a bt92 rear turns up somewhere. |

I've just had this problem, could not get a set of 090's anywhere, everyone said they had no idea when they would have them. I was also annoyed as it would have been my second set this year. Had to go for BT45's and was a bit annoyed as I love the 090's but to be honest the 45's have been fine, even did my trackday at Brands Hatch on them without a problem! Plus they do last a lot longer than the 090's....

Not sure really, my SF had 45's when I got it and I tried 090's as an experiment. I've had several people fit tyres and ask if I want 45's as a first option. There are hardly any other tyres in the 110/70/17 and 140/70/17 sizes. I think 45's also have a dual compound so they are harder in the centre and softer on the edges. |

hmm something seems fishy, something tells me that tyre specialist was trying to pull the wool over my eyes and get me to buy a more expensive sports tyre |

45's will do you about 10-12k - miles! And I reckon they're fine. That's easily 3-4 times as far as 090's, and they're not 1/3 as good.
I used to like 92's too, but then i realised how much dual cabbageway riding I have to do and couldn't justify anything other than the 45. Anything else was square inside about 4k. |

The best tyres i ever used even tho they were oversized.....were bridgestone 020's.....120 up front 160 on the back(if u go up a size on the back u must do the same to front to balance handling).....they were fanfappintastic gripped well in dry and wet and because they were made for heavier bikes the durability was excellent. You put a 160 on a 4 inch rim, and a 120 on a 3 inch rim? those sizes are for 3.5 and 4.5 or 5 inch rims! You actually went up two sizes on the rear. That would not have been endorsed by bridgestone at all. |

isn't that a tubed tyre - the one that preceeded the bt45? which itself has been courier tyre of choice forever? |

I have ordered and recieved my bt45's (god they're heavy) and now waiting for my mate to fit em, then the joy of scrubbing em in....
I'm still worried the way i ride is too aggresive for the 45's, i spose ill have to wait and see after they're on and scrubbed. |

Ha ha, must try that one, add the A272 Petworth to Billingshurst on a quiet evening with no traffic... beautiful, safe riding and happy tyre scrubbing, see you at 'the hill'... |
