not a lot probably whatever the condition. Not really desirable bikes (sorry '24 gang) and so cheap.

89 NC30 my mate Number 9

Still a good bike though, you have to agree?
Top proce to pay is probs a grand but £800 is nearer the mark for a minter.

Agreed About A Grand, But You're Not Going To Find An NC24 Thats Not Been Dropped Or Messed With.. But Yeah A £800 - £1000 Is About Right.. Plus Whatever You Gotta Spend To Get It How You Want It.. As For Undesirable Bikes, Yeah, Because The Parts Are Abismal To Find And The NC30 Has Nicer Front Lights lol (However Jim67 Has Invented A Very Good Way Of Improving The Lights Situation )

I have an NC24 and the parts availability has never been an issue. It is more comfortable than the NC30 because there is more room and there is very little difference in performance and handling

Nope, I Have Developed A Nice Problem With My Front Discs Being Tapered So They Squeek All The Time, So The Look Of The Bike Has Been Put On Hold While I Spend On The Essentials.. Like I Need Front Brakes

Not worth a lot, I would natrually go for a 30, as they cost only a little more, and are a superior bike, I dont think the 30 sounds as good though.

I would contest the superior bike, in terms of handling maybe, but engine power is a no, my '24 seriously out does my mates '30.. As for the '24 sounding better, that I will agree with.

There's something wrong with your mates 30 then. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in stock for a stock '24 had a factory bhp of 55, where-as the 30 was 58. Get you mate to sort his valve clearances

I think the '24 was over 60bhp, after all it was made before the restriction came into place, so it also has the potential to go faster still especially because the tolerances aren't so fine. Either that or he rides like a pussy lol (Or because I have a workshop at my disposal I also have access to many wonderous things to make me go faster, having said that, I don't even have my pipe fitted yet...)

Mmm, a quick Google search has thrown up 55bhp, not just on one site either. The restriction wasn't in hp though, it was speed. The NC30 still left the factory with 58bhp but 112mph restricted. I thik it'd be down to the rider and not the bike.

To be fair I tried to find a true BHP reading and couldn't get a thing, so yeah I suppose I just ride harder.. Either way 4BHP wouldn't make any difference.

It pains me to say it but for the cost of a grand to get another 4BHP, I kinda would have just gone with a mid 90's 600 or 750 lol.. Also to be honest surely that was just for bragging rights, just to say yours has more horses than someone else ??

Can I quote you then and say, why would I want another bike when I have what I want (ala the '24/'30 argument) There are many on here who have done the same thing. My system cost over £500, RVF carbs, jetting etc, carbon air tray etc etc. It's not just a 4bhp increase, it's a 7% power increase. I've owned a few other bikes but keep coming back to me 30, plus I'm buying a K5 750 shortly for a bit of a change, but the 30 is staying.

Oh no question of doubt I said that, but I was giving the route I probably would have taken.. But as I will state once again for me it's not the speed, it's the noise and feeling, and if that £1000 gave you a warm fuzzy feeling inside then nobody can say it was a mis-spent grand .. But thinking about it I don't think i'd take a mid 90's 600 or 750.. I'd just buy my Dads Triton off him lol.. Also do you think we have usurped this thread just to talk about stuff nobody else really cares about besides us ??

Those specs are flawed, 400's certainly don't have 34mm carbs. Makes you wonder what else is wrong...

Performance difference between the two bikes will come down to the rider. The nc30 is more sports focused, and I would think that the nc24 would be slower around a track with less top end power. Real world riding might be a different story.

I've only ever seen one nc24 in Aus, rare beasts over here. If they were as cheap here as they are in the UK I'd snap one up for a commuter.

I DUG the underground!
