I know a few people have used hammerite to refinish thier brake calipers. I've just bead blasted, primed and sprayed mine 3 days ago. They are dry but if I remember right there is a 5 or 6 week curing time where the paint hardens? It sure is soft at the moment so if someone could confirm that it does indeed cure and harden then I can avoid reblasting them and doing them with a 2 part paint.

How thick did u put it on?

But yes, it does have a 6 week curring time.

So it'll be touch dry but you'd still be able to push your fingernail in for a few days... before it hardens.

I used a spraygun to apply it and gave it 3 thin coats within 1 hour of each other.

put them in the airing cupboard for a few days

Ha ha ha, oh my God! I almost didn't do it, I almost didn't do it! I thought, is this in bad taste? But you know what, I went for it. I went for it and I'm so glad I did! Ooooh, worth it, totally worth it.

Or take them to a paintshop with an oven and get them baked when they are doing a car or something.

I baked mine in the oven... They were OK within 24hrs.... However, beware that the oaint can run if you do this, and can make a big mess of the oven.....
