It is a good start for sure - keep the carbs cool and make you thik about how it runs etc.

Agree with Vipe ref supension setup as well although sometimes a bit more intelligence is what you need.

Jim Clarke said that when he wanted to go faster, he just concentrated harder!I am certainly not bke limited in my speed, just in the head!

Uprated fuel pipe
Uprated vaccuum hose

the only one there that will make a difference is the slides drilled,i changed thefilter as the oe one was wrecked, over flow pipe cos it's easier to get the seat on and off, fuel pipe as it's supposed to be heat resistant and the vaccuum hose has it's tougher and won't kink

What gearing are you running polarbear?

Fitting a 14t front sprocket gives better acceleration over the standard one. Probably the best bang for your buck mod.

I would also put a used half system on your shopping list. It will probably cost less than the levers you want...

agreed ,i put 14/43 on one of my bikes and took it a run up the road, couldn't get over how quickly it went up the revs and up the gears, best craic i have had in a long time, but i settled for 15/43 in the end

i have thought about this, but doesnt the 14t sprocket take away some of your top speed? also, what difference does a half can make, might be up for that one as im prob gonna need to start replacing parts of the exhaust soon. (well remembered about the levers by the way cammo, still lookin)

I run 14-42 everyday on my NC29 commuter, why would I need top end traveling to work

Ha ha ha, oh my God! I almost didn't do it, I almost didn't do it! I thought, is this in bad taste? But you know what, I went for it. I went for it and I'm so glad I did! Ooooh, worth it, totally worth it.

this is the truth ,i "tested" the gearing on a road i never really use,too long and high speed if your into that sorta thing,at the end of it i was pretty bored sitting at 10,000rpm and 000mph,not really my thing tbh but it got there *Censored*ing quickly !!!

I use 15/43 all the time and it is plenty fast enough. Enough top speed for anyone and just about perfect for the trackdays I have done too.

Half systems are lighter and perform better than std systems = win win

its annoying man, sounds great and id rush to do it but the chain and my sprockets and chain are pretty much brand spanking! viperbiker has a half sys for sale but would it go straight on my bike with my scorpion exhaust relatively easily?

ffffoget the scorpion can, once you hear a jap system on a '30 you'll not want to swap back, plus you can sell the standard system with can so the system from garteh isn't that expensive

Ben, you'll not fit the Scorpian can to my system. It come complete and ready to bolt on. Some in 4 pieces and is all spring mounted. As Rhory said, you can sell your own cut system and can and get about £100 for it, so my system get a lot cheaper really quickly. I have no need to sell it as I have a few Jap race systems, so I'll hold out until I get the proper money for it, if not. I'll fit it to another track bike I'm building. A standard system and race can will be a lot heavier and more restricted than my Ethos, worth every penny if you ask me.
