Firsts timer to this forum and I hope somone can help me please,

my brothers GSXR400 has got a clicking noise (intermitant) coming from under his seat when he pushes the starter button and the bike won't start but it will bump start most of the time but I don't run cleanly at the bottom end.
The part that is clicking under the seat has got the Pos feed from the battery going to it, is this the Starter Solenoid / Relay and do you think this is causing the bad running/cutting out and non starting off the starter button ?

Low battery power by the sound of it - happened to me when I first got mine. Get a new battery on there and it should spin over fine. If it's running rough at the bottom end, when was the last time you had a carb rebuild ? Has the bike been stood for any length of time ? What model & year is it ?
