hey Really just a topic to discuss the difference between nc29 models coz im bored. Noticed there is a fair few part numbers an information that differs between the L,N models compared to the R model, difference with valve clearances but also things like the exhaust, obviously they are all interlinked with each other so I suspect the carb trumpets, cylinder head, will have sum differences aswel.
I was just wondering does the R model engine make more power or are any more reliable than the L,N models or just random changes improvement Honda decided to make, I also assume there are other changes related to the chassis

cabs are slightly differnt - 4 short stacks iirc and the slides are slightly different too.
Forks are adjustable for damping too
I seem to remember the pistons being different too - could be wrong though

The Fork assembly on the R series are so different, my Haynes manual has a seperate section just for them on thier own. The look to have different components, as well as, different abilities. IE damping. |
CBR400RR-N (NC29) Colin Edwards, Laguna Seca 2002, WSB-Race2 "Stars 'n' Stripes" Colours. With a little bit a Carbon, some ProBolt Alloy, couple of K&N Filters & running on Bridgestone Front & Rear. |

lots of differences on the "R" forks, cams, carbs, gearbox, wiring and switchgear at least and i think its the only one that gets proper fireblade paintwork (red/black type8) in my opinion the "R" is the closest to a modern spots bike |

we should get two together and have a good old fasion race!!
so does anyone think that changing parts from an r model would have any improvments. i don't plan on doing this but would be rather nifty if power or better running could be had from bolting R model parts to a L&N or viseversa |
