Is there anyway to tell how worn your rear shocks are? I thought that one was leaking some oil but it doesn't look like it is doing it now. Being my first bike I don't have a reference point for working normally or its worn out. Any advice.

Stand behind the bike, press down on it sharply, then release pressure, if the seat comes up slowly, it's OK, if it comes up very quickly, no damping.
That's just a basic test to see if your shock is dangerous, not to see if Rossi would use it ;) |
WWW.HONDACB1.CO.NR + NC29 swingarm ('29 wheels soon), Quill T3 Ti, lots of black, blade rear hangers, beet rearsets, brembo brake. Top mods: BT45's, touring screen & rack with 50L box! Stolen recovered, scumbags best not try again. |

What colour is the oil typically used in a shock. Is is brown, tan, grey, black, clear?? When I thought mine was leaking the fluid I saw on the lower mount point appeared to be quite clear. Would this be oil from the shock?
Thanks |
