Hi all, I've come to bug you with tales of cleaning tips and maintenance schedules. Behold! The new little beasty.

Cb-1s are lovely, but the engine and side panel paint always suffers, as it has done on yours. no remedy except stripping and refinishing. Black ones are best. How has yours been raised? Cos it certainly has.

Yours looks in decent condition, considering the bike is most likely 18 years old.

+ NC29 swingarm ('29 wheels soon), Quill T3 Ti, lots of black, blade rear hangers, beet rearsets, brembo brake. Top mods: BT45's, touring screen & rack with 50L box! Stolen recovered, scumbags best not try again.

The suspension has been heavily modified by the bike's previous owner's boyfriend. Looks to be a Blade rear shock with Ohlins spring, plus a fork setup combining CBR600 and CB1 parts (fully adjustable). Works wonders - it took 20 miles to rid the back tyre of unsightly strips, now working on the front's...

Probably not as comfy as a standard setup but a world away from my uncompromising Konica.

Finish isn't much of an issue at the moment, neither's the age. It's going to be used daily, but I can't help myself when it comes to giving a bike a bit of a spruce up...made in the same year as my Konica anyway.

Fly screen, about 25 quid from hein gericke. I will grant you it's not the single most beautiful thing, but it will increase comfy sat-up cruising speed from about 85 to about 100.
