Hi All,

I am now officially a member of the ZXR400 clan! I just bought a racing-spec L model, which has ZX10 racing fairings and bodykit, which makes it really look like a ZX10. The guy threw in all the original road parts, 5 different sprockets, 4 extra sets of racing tyres, and the paddock stand. I am collecting it tonight, and will hopefully take it on the track next weekend. I wonder how it will compare to my Triumph Daytona 675 on the track.

I can't wait.

I will post some pictures if I can figure out how to do so (any advice?)

A bit slower at the top end, but way more fun in the corners. Enjoy.

Na, have to disagree there, 675 is better in the corners

Have fun on it though, just keep the throttle pinned

Well, I got my bike on Friday evening. I spent the entire weekend working on her. I first flushed and drained the engine oil. Replaced the oil filter, and refilled with fresh oil. I then completely removed the exhaust, which involved removing the fairings and the radiator. I spent about 4 hours repairing a rattle and multiple leaks in the exhaust. I eventually had to cut the exhaust in half, just after the 2-into-1, as there is a small dividing plate inside that was lose and causing the rattle. I had to weld that secure, and then weld the exhaust back together. After doing a water-test, I found about 8 other small holes in the exhaust, which I then welded shut. I used rust remover and a wire brush to clean the entire exhaust. I then sprayed it with black heat resistant paint. The exhaust is now as good as new. The rattle is gone, her power and responsiveness feels better, and she sounds awesome.

I will add a picture as soon as the Photo Bucket site stops timing-out.

Looks sweet dude!

How well does the rear seat cowl fit and does it fit to the original sub frame?

Thanks Guys. I will be taking the afternoon off from work next Wednesday to take the bike to the track. I am excited to see how she performs.

Yes Loris, the rear cowl fits to the original frame, and is very secure.

The bike looks unreal mate!. Does removing the air intakes at the front not have an effect on performance though?
